The organizing committee is happy to felicitate and honour those outstanding players and contributors who have set a milestone for the coming generations.  Their achievements and contributions will be an inspiration for the young budding table tennis players in the coming years. In 2013 the committee decided to felicitate Jitendra Kumar Gidla.
 
JITENDRA KUMAR GIDLA
It was proud moment for SPSTTA to felicitate G.Jitendra to commemorate his excellent achievements as a table tennis player at both national and international level.   He has the credit of creating many milestones and bringing laurels to Andhra Pradesh & St.Paul’s Stag Table  Tennis Academy.
  • He is the only player from Andhra Pradesh to represent India in Major World Table Tennis Championships in the last 36 years.
  • He is the winner of State Championship Title for 8 Consecutive Years, which is record in the history of Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis.
  • Represented Indian Team at the Asian Games which one of the biggest sports events conducted in Asia.
  • Was a member of the Indian Youth Delegation which visited China on an Exchange Programme and met many Political Officials and students of China in 2006.
  • Was a member of the Esteemed Indian Table Tennis Team which played at the World Table Tennis Championship held at Germany where more than 50 countries participated.
  • Represented India and Andhra Pradesh in various National and International Tournaments as mentioned under Achievements.
  • Have been Captain of the Indian team in the International Tournaments held at North Korea, Vietnam and Indonesia.
  • Have been Captain of the Andhra Pradesh team in all the Junior and Senior Nationals attended.
 
International Achievements
  • Gold Medal in singles at the California State Open 2009
  • Gold Medal in Doubles at the California State Open 2009
  • Gold Medal in Singles at the California State Open 2010
  • Gold Medal in Doubles at the California State Open 2010
  • Coach of the Ariel Hsing and Lily Zhang who represented USA in the London Olympics.
International
  • Represented India in World Table Tennis Championship held at Bremen,Germany(2006), Asian games held at Doha,Qatar, Commonwealth Championship held at Jaipur (2007),Indonesian Open held at Indonesia(2007) and Pyongyang Invitational Tournament held at North Korea(2006) and secured 5th place in Team Event.
  • Represented India in Pro-Tours held at Ho Chi Min city, Vietnam(2006),Germany(2006),Poland(2006),China(2007) and Japan(2007).
 
Key Achievements – National
  • Won Bronze Medal in Men Singles in Central Zone Championship held at Gandhidham in 2007.
  • Won Silver Medal in Team Event at National Table Tennis Championship held at Jaipur(2006) and another Silver Medal in Team Event and Bronze Medal in Men Doubles at Panvel(2004)
  • Won Bronze Medal in Men Singles in All India National Ranking Championship held at Aurangabad(2006) and Vijaywada(2006)
  • Represented Andhra Pradesh in National Games held at Assam(2007) and won Bronze Medal in Team Event and Men Doubles at Hyderabad(2002)
  • Represented Andhra Pradesh in Senior Nationals held at Gurgaon(2003), Pune(2002), Delhi(2001), Cuttack(2000) and Lucknow(1999).
  • Represented Andhra Pradesh in Junior Nationals held at Jalandhar(1998) and Imphal, Manipur(1997).
  • Won Junior State Table Tennis Championship and State No.1 for the Year 1997, 1998.
  • Won Men's State Championship and have been State No.1 for 9 Years (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007)
  • Other than the State Championship, have won major State Ranking Tournaments in Andhra Pradesh.
 
Significant Achievements – Inter Varsities
  • Outstanding performance for 2 years, without losing a single match in the South Zone and All India Inter Universities Table Tennis Championship and was declared the Best Player of the championship.
  • Was the captain of Osmania University Table Tennis Team and won various medals at the South Zone and All India level.
    • Won Gold Medal in South Zone Inter Universities Table Tennis Championship held at Davangere, Karnataka(2000) and Kerala(2001)
    • Won Silver Medal in All India Inter Universities Table Tennis Championship held at Delhi(1999) and Kolkatta(2000) and in South Zone Inter Universities Table Tennis Championship held at Chennai(1999)
  • Winner of Inter College Table Tennis Championship for 3 consecutive years (1999,2000,2001) conducted by Osmania University.
 
Key Achievements School
  • Gold Medalist at ICSE Open Table Tennis Tournament held at Vizag in 1996.
  • Inter School Champion in the year 1996
  • Was the Sports Captain of Grammar School and lead the school team in various Inter School championships.
 
Key Achievements at Dena Bank
  • Gold Medalist in Men Singles and Team Event, Silver Medalist in Men Doubles and Bronze Medalist in Mixed Doubles in the Bank Olympiad held at Mumbai in 2007 organised by Central Bank of India.
  • Won Dena Gold Cup which was conducted by Mumbai District Table Tennis Association held at Mumbai in 2007.
  • Bronze Medalist in the Men Doubles and Mixed Doubles at the Inter Institutional Table Tennis Championship held at Delhi in 2007.
  • Was selected the Captain of the Banks Sports Board and lead the team in the All India Inter Institutional Championship held at Delhi in 2007.
 
Key Achievements at South Central Railways
  • Represented Indian Railways in World Railway Championship held at Liberec, Czech Republic 2006 and won Silver Medal in Team Event and Bronze Medal in Men Doubles.
  • Won Silver Medal in Team Event in the Inter Institutional Table Tennis Championship held at Hyderabad(2003) and Bangalore(2006) and Silver Medal in Men Singles at Delhi(2005) and Bronze Medal in Men Doubles in Hyderabad(2003) and Men Singles in Bangalore(2006).
  • Was the only player from the South Central Railway to represent India at World Railway Championship.
  • Was the only player from South Central Railway who represented the Indian Railways at various National ranking tournaments and won many laurels.
 
G.Jitendra did is schooling from St.Georges Grammar School, Hyderabad and Graduated in Commerce (B.Com) from Nizam College, Hyderabad. Later he completed his Masters in Business Administration from Oakland, California, USA, Lincoln University.

Jitendra is from St.Paul’s Stag Table Tennis Academy and was trained under Md.Ibrahim Khan & P.Nagender Reddy.
